KEARNEY, Neb. – The No. 1-selling Christmas artist of all time is coming to Kearney for two Nov. 12 concerts at the Viaero Event Center.
Mannheim Steamroller will bring its signature mix of renaissance instruments with rock and roll beats to Kearney as part of its 25th Anniversary Tour. Tickets for the show - “The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller by Chip Davis” - go on sale beginning July 21 and can be ordered online at www.kearneyevents.com or by phone at 308-338-8011.
Grammy Award winner and mastermind behind the group, Chip Davis, will direct and co-produce the tour. The show will feature the favorite Christmas music of Mannheim Steamroller along with state-of-the-art multimedia effects.
Davis works out of Omaha and has written, arranged and recorded over 35 albums while selling more than 40 million records. With more than 27 million Christmas records sold, Mannheim Steamroller is the biggest selling Christmas artist of all time.
The group’s annual Christmas tour has become a tradition for many families, Davis says.
“At Christmas time especially, people want to have something familiar in their lives to listen to. And for the last 25 years, millions of people have grown up listening to our music,” Davis says. “Christmas time is family time, and our music and concerts are all family friendly. We often see three generations attending one of our shows.”
Mannheim Steamroller is one of the top 50 best-selling artists of the last two decades, outselling prominent artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Sting, REM, Barbara Streisand and Bon Jovi. Davis started Mannheim Steamroller more than 30 years ago with his Grammy Award-winning Fresh Aire series.
