KEARNEY - The Fort Kearny Conference will play the championship games of its conference basketball tournament Monday night at the Viaero Event Center in Kearney.

Amherst plays Overton in the girls title game at 6:15 p.m., and Loomis plays Overton in the boys championship at 8 p.m.

The FKC modified its schedule and played its boys and girls semifinals at the Event Center on Thursday to avoid the winter storm that hit central Nebraska.  The conference also cancelled its third-place games.

The Viaero Event Center is removing its basketball court to accommodate a Sunday afternoon performance of Disney Live and will reinstall it Monday in time for that night's basketball games.

"We wanted to do everything possible to make our building available to the FKC, even if that meant adjusting our building schedule," said Todd Gottula, the arena's vice president. "It was important to make our facility available and carry out our committment to the schools participating."

This is the second year the FKC has played its conference tourney at the Event Center.

The Disney Live! performance on Sunday, 2/5/12 of Three Classic Fairy Tales show at 1:30 p.m. as planned.

Doors will open at 12:30 p.m.
